Glorious Goodwood 2015: Dates, TV Schedule, Live Stream and Race Info

The annual Glorious Goodwood festival is here once again, and Tuesday will see the start of five thrilling days of horse racing.

One of the most important events on the British Flat racing calendar, the meeting at Goodwood is a summer highlight for any racing fan.

To ensure you don't miss any of the action, here is the full TV schedule for the festival:

Each day can also be streamed live via Channel4.com.

The standout race at the meeting will be the Sussex Stakes on Day 2.

For the first time in its 174-year history, the Group 1 race carries a £1 million prize, which as Marcus Armytage of the Telegraph reports puts it level with the Grand National "as the joint fifth most valuable race in Britain, as well as the second most valuable mile race in Europe."

Armytage also notes the race will hold the fourth "Duel on the Downs"—the name given to then three-year-old Frankel's titanic clash with the older Canford Cliffs in 2011— following Dawn Approach and Kingman's races against Toronado in 2013 and 2014.

This time, the race will see three-year-old Gleneagles take on Solow.

Gleneagles has enjoyed an outstanding year so far, winning the 2000 Guineas, Irish 2000 Guineas and the St. James's Palace Stakes in 2015.

Goodwood Racecourse's official Twitter account highlight the colt's impressive record:

According to Armytage, Gleneagles "has an abundance of speed and a fantastic pedigree."

However, he will face stiff competition in the form of Solow.

The five-year-old has had a similarly strong year, tasting victory at the Prix d'Ispahan and the Queen Anne Stakes.

Again, Goodwood Racecourse single out Solow as a contender for the Sussex Stakes:

The gelding's trainer, Freddy Head, is eagerly anticipating the race after the win at Royal Ascot and believes rain could give the advantage to Solow. Per Sky Sports, he said:

He is very well, he took the race well and I'm very happy with him. That (Goodwood) is the plan if all goes well and I hope we get a little rain.

It's going to be an interesting race, I think. Gleneagles has had a tough spring, he has two Guineas and a St James's Palace in his legs, so we'll see.

I don't think my horse will improve on his performance at Ascot, but he can be as well (as he was there) and if there is a bit more ease in the ground I'll be happy.

Should it rain at Goodwood, then Solow could well take advantage of the conditions and make full use of his edge over the competition.

However, if the weather remains dry then expect Gleneagles to come out ahead in a closely fought contest.
